Description:

When I work in one medium for a long period of time, I usually like to take a break from it to explore something a little different to break up the pattern.  Many of the Japanese works I had created were in ink.  Exploring color was not that important. This drawing was my first effort at exploring patterns, forms and text.

Sachi, an artist with whom I have had several exhibitions, provided much needed input as I was working on this piece.  As a result of her suggestions, this work was completed, and in turn added another dimension to investigations with Japanese Art and Culture.
