Title: Lipstick Medium: Technical pen on paper Size: 8 1/2 by 11 inches Created: 2000 Description: This work was inspired by a small image, but then added to with a few distinctive touches. The concept behind this work was that images, particularly images that one creates for one or of oneself can be the most difficult to maintain. In an attempt to create an "illusion" to the world, as the art of Geisha utilizes, the image created can frequently reveal as much as it conceals. Beneath the effortless image of elegance created by Geisha, there are years of demanding disciplined work that makes such an image possible. For those that know or look closely, one can see elements that are no so apparent in a casual glance.
