Description:

The subject of this drawing is love and the darker side of emotional attachments. The duality in this image by having it split deals with the concept that there is always a flip side, or underside to every experience. Even when you understand an idea, there is usually a deeper, often hidden meaning that requires time to find the elusive truth.

The idea of using my Japanese inspired imagery was a way to incorporate my new found source matter in a contemporary manner that allowed me to delve into a drawing that explores the themes I have used before in a slightly different manner.
