I like the idea of seeing the older work besides the new. Looking at this drawing, that was part of a two person exhibition in Charlotte North Carolina back in the mid 1990's, I can see the growth and many changes my work has passed through as my ideas have changed as regarding art.

The new work features more emotional complexity and more cultural influences outside of myself.  The simple child like nature of this drawing is in sharp contrast to the more dense feature laden works to come.  However, you can see that incorporating text with my images has been a feature of my work for a longer period of time than even I had thought.
